What a weekend at Folk Fest

What a weekend at Folk Fest

It took a few days, but we’ve finally recovered from a fantastic weekend of good music, good coffee and good friends at the 38th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Here are a few snapshots from a Folk Fest to remember.

Good music

This year’s Folk Fest featured 60 acts from 18 countries on 7 beachfront stages, plus a select group of emerging musicians on the Young Artist stage. Check out our interview with Tierney (Marko) Johnson, one of the Young Artist Program participants.

Good food & drink

Salt Spring Coffee had three locations at this year’s Folk Fest, serving up a mix of hot and iced espresso drinks, coffee and cold brew—plus tea, hot chocolate, Happy Planet juices, and snacks from our friends at Aphrodite’s and Uprising Breads.

Good fun

Visitors to the Salt Spring Coffee Folk Bazaar location outside the festival could win Folk Fest wristbands by repeating a magic phrase (released daily on Instagram) to their barista.

Until next year, Folk Fest
