Article: An Epic Festival Weekend

An Epic Festival Weekend

An Epic Festival Weekend

Epic Sustainable Living Festival is Western Canada’s largest sustainable lifestyle show, now in its 7th year. Featuring nearly 200 local sustainable businesses, from food, beverages, services to live entertainment and workshops, the Festival moved to the luscious and beautiful green space at Van Dusen Botanical Garden this year. This past weekend, Salt Spring Coffee took part in the festivities, and we were able to connect with consumers and like-minded businesses that are equally invested in sustainability, the environment, and community.

The atmosphere at Epic was one of exploration. Rambling garden paths encouraged wandering, which heightened the curiosity for many festival-goers, who were driven to explore the breathtaking gardens at Van Dusen.

In addition, eighteen up-and-coming BC bands, including Steph Macpherson and The Paper Boys lit up the main stage with their soulful sound.

With more than 17 food trucks,  20 wineries and breweries in the designated Sip & Savour Garden, and outdoor festivities including a kids play area and bocce ball tournament, the event was a well-rounded success, and Salt Spring Coffee was proud to take part, offering our newest seasonal coffee, Byron’s Maracaturra and cold brew samples of Africa, the newest blend in our Roast Master Series.
