Our New Roast Master Series

Our New Roast Master Series

You may have noticed a new “Roast Master Series” icon on our Africa coffee. What makes the Roast Master Series coffee different from our other coffees? It refers to our seasonal blends that our expert roasting team has specially designed to create exciting new flavour profiles.

The art of blending involves knowing how to bring the individual flavours of each bean to life. Africa is our first seasonal coffee to use a “green bean” blend method, meaning that the beans are blended before they are roasted. This method highlights the delicate nuances of each bean, including the flavour of Earl Grey tea from beans from the Amaro Gayo region, a flavour which marries well with the fruity character of Sidamo coffee. The result is a blend that is fantastic when brewed as an iced coffee.

As a farewell to the seasonal blend Africa, we prepared a special version for Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields, an annual fundraiser for Farm Folk City Folk. We also roasted a special batch for the Sip & Savour festival on Salt Spring Island, which unites growers, food producers, chefs and vintners from Salt Spring Island and Vancouver Island.

Our roasting team will continue to find inspiration and experiment with new dynamic blends, so stay tuned for more details on the next blend in our Roast Master Series.
