Kicking off cold brew season with big news
As the mercury rises, we like to swap at least one of our daily mugs of hot coffee for a bottle of cold brew. And now we have three all-natural, all-organic flavours to choose from.
Meet the dream team
If you’re lucky, you had a chance to try our Classic Cold Brew last season. This year, we’re expanding our cold brew family with the addition of two new flavours: vanilla and citrus.
- Classic Cold Brew: Chocolaty and full-bodied, this naturally sweet brew packs a caffeine punch.
- Vanilla Cold Brew: The sweetest of the bunch, this flavoured brew pairs well with dairy and goes down like a dream.
- Citrus Cold Brew: Bright and refreshing with a hint of cardamom, this flavoured brew is the secret ingredient to killer cocktails, tonics and ice cream floats—if you don’t drink it first.
What is cold brew anyway?
The main difference between cold brew and iced coffee is the temperature of the water used during the brewing process. While iced coffee is brewed with hot water (like regular coffee) and then cooled over ice, true cold brew coffee is brewed with room-temperature or even cold water.
What makes ours special?
Glad you asked. At Salt Spring Coffee, our cold brew is made with freshly roasted organic coffee beans that are coarsely ground and then stepped in cold, pure water for a whopping 16 hours. (You know what they say about rushing a good thing.) The result is a caffeinated beverage that’s rich, smooth and naturally sweet. Oh, and did we mention that ours was the first organic cold brew in Canada?
