Meet 5 of our birthday giveaway partners

From our partner farmers around the globe to our partner cafés close to home, the fantastic people we work with have made the past 20 years that much sweeter. So we couldn’t be happier that a few local businesses have stepped up to help us celebrate this exciting milestone.

Last week, we told you about our big birthday giveaway (hint: we’re giving away more than 180 Baratza Encore grinders and a Salt Spring Island getaway for two). This week, we’re shining a spotlight on a few spots around Vancouver where you can enter—and get a fresh cup of Salt Spring Coffee at the same time.

1. Edible Canada

Located on Granville Island, Edible Canada promotes local food and highlights Canadian cuisine with a restaurant, a gourmet artisan retail shop and a series of local tours and events. You can always count on the Edible Canada bistro for tasty dishes featuring fresh, seasonal food from local producers.

Tip: Stop by the bistro for Sunday brunch and a stroll through Granville Island.

Sip: Village Trade, Metta Espresso or Decaf

2. Grouse Mountain Resorts

Part of the North Shore Mountains, Grouse Mountain rises 1,200 metres or 4,000 feet above sea level. In the winter, Grouse Mountain Resorts serves 26 runs with four chairlifts. In the summer, there are lumberjack shows, helicopter rides and hiking trails, including the epic 2.9-kilometre Grouse Grind.

Tip: Be the first to complete the Grouse Grind 20 times to win. There’s a shot of espresso waiting at the top! Online contest starts in May. Be sure to like their Facebook page and stay tuned for details.

Sip: Blue Heron, French Roast, Metta Espresso or Decaf

3. UBC

The University of British Columbia’s Alma Mater Society (AMS) owns and operates a number of restaurants and cafés that strive to provide sustainable food options for faculty and students on campus. Uppercase, Lowercase and Flipside are a few of our favourites.

Tip: Grab a Blue Chip Cookie and check out the new Student Nest. Enter the 20 year Raffle contest in their Uppercase Cafe.

Sip: Canopy Bird, French Roast, Peru, Decaf or Cold Brew

4. Uprising Breads Bakery

For the past three decades, Uprising Breads has been baking up tasty multigrain breads free of preservatives and artificial ingredients. They’re upstanding members of the community too, working closely with local groups like Quest Food Exchange and Angel Food Runners to get bread to those who need it most.

Tip: Try a loaf of the Cracked Wheat & Sunflower Bread or a honey-sweetened treat.

Sip: Peru, Sumatra, Metta Espresso, Decaf or Cold Brew

5. Vancouver Aquarium

Located in Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium is Canada’s largest with over 50,000 animals and an ever-changing selection of features. Whether we’re fueling the annual Ocean Wise™ Chowder Chowdown, or simply spending a little time learning about our oceans and the creatures in them, a trip to the aquarium is always a treat.

Tip: Spend a Saturday at the new stingray exhibit.
Sip: French Roast, Village Trade or Decaf
